About the role:

As a Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) you will provide the customer Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) by providing security engineering, compliance and advisory work in support of our customer's rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Has an in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity policies and procedures for government sector information systems and sufficient technical knowledge and experience to implement them.
  • Provides hands on security and compliance guidance and work with Scrum Masters and product owners in concert with system requirements that are being developed and implementing cloud computing.
  • RMF/ATO process support
  • Security architecture review and assessment
  • DevSecOps pipeline security integration (fits the Platform One/IL5 environment)
  • Coordination with the Government ISSM/ISSO
  • This position may require privileged access and DODD 8140 restrictions will apply.

What we are looking for: 

  • Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and minimum of 18 years' related professional experience; Or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and minimum 10 years' related professional experience
  • CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification
  • Experience with tooling such as ACAS/Nessus, Splunk, or similar SIEM experience
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance. A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired
  • Must have IAT Level II

Highly preferred:

  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience
  • Experience with Defensive Cyber Operations

Clearance Requirements:

  • Candidates must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00

Work Type:

  • On-Site (Colorado Springs, CO)
  • Foreign and domestic travel up to 25% to customer sites
