Role Summary
The Rivian Service team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional Purchasing professionals to accelerate the growth of Rivian Service Procurement excellence. In this individual contributor role, the Global Supply Manager will be responsible for sourcing and managing parts that make up the building blocks of the R1T, R1S, and Electric Delivery Vehicles. As a Global Supply Manager, you will be responsible for all Service aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Service NPI within the Technical Service Organization.
Responsibilities
  • Build a model to drive negotiations and sourcing strategy for various vehicle commodities
  • Lead the strategic sourcing process by ensuring that the product is matched to the right supplier, and they are effective in delivering the product in collaboration with the technical Service team.
  • Lead Service contractual negotiations with suppliers on Non-disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Service Pricing, and Lifetime Support post production end of life
  • Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop global sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders while considering market conditions as well as technology roadmaps
  • Perform detailed assessments of supplier quote submissions with costs and business needs in mind
  • Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics
  • Work closely with Service Technical Program Management to track sourcing progress, execute product kick-off, and manage progress towards product launch events
  • Be an advocate for Rivian core values to the market

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of strategic sourcing, direct procurement, and/or experience in commodities across vehicle systems. Commodity examples: harness, low voltage, seats, thermal, or interiors.
  • 1+ years; experience leading RFI/RFP/RFQ processes
  • 1+ years managing commercial business relationships with large suppliers in an Automotive, Electronics or high-volume manufacturing business
  • 3+ years MS Office or equivalent experience
  • 1+ Supplier Relationship Experience
  • 1+ Cost Modeling experience
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for 8-10 hours per day
  • Required to communicate using phone and/or e-mail
  • Ability to view, read, and interpret documents
  • Ability to perform all duties in an office environment that may contain ambient noise and temperature fluctuations
  • Commitment to traveling about 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or master's degree in related field
  • 1 year of procurement, purchasing, buying experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets to derive meaningful, actionable results
  • Comfort in working independently, and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand Engineering and Design direction and provide focused supply-chain solutions accordingly
  • Experience with automotive, electronic, or consumer products, and the design and manufacture there

Pay Disclosure
The salary range for this role is $71,000 to $94,140 for Michigan based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26, including but not limited to paid vacation, paid sick leave, and a competitive portfolio of insurance benefits including life, medical, dental, vision, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance to eligible employees. You may also have the opportunity to participate in Rivian's 401(k) Plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program if you meet certain eligibility requirements. Full-time employee coverage is effective on their first day of employment. Part-time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
