Description

Job Summary:

Oneida Health Cancer Care, a Roswell Park Care Network member, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our cancer care team. The NP will provide comprehensive care to adult oncology patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, symptom management, and patient education. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The role is Monday-Friday. Compensated on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising oncologist
  • Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and laboratory results
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and symptom management
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license
  • Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, ACLS preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move freely throughout the workday
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for performing physical examinations and procedures
  • Ability to lift and carry medical equipment and supplies as needed
