Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings by providing written grants and grant reports to institutional, governmental and United Way for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. Maintain an active relationship with funding source contacts. Provides administrative analysis, post-award services, and oversight to ensure compliance with grant requirements; serves as a resource and point of contact for finance staff and managers of grant-funded programs. EEO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervises two Grant Managers towards the completion of the Grant Department's annual goals for proposals, reporting and foundation cultivation.
  • Leads grant staff in an on-going process of prospecting, developing and maintaining a grant management schedule for all under-development, pending, and proposed funding sources.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, prospect & evaluate potential corporate giving outside of traditional foundations.
  • Research writes and submits grant applications on behalf of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with Grant Funders through individual meetings, site visits and other avenues, representing the broad spectrum of agency objectives.
  • Identify, cultivate and nurture relationships with potential foundation & community partners.
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Grants Management Team, policies and procedures in accordance with Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas regulations.
  • Operates as the liaison between the grant accountant, compliance manager, program manager, and awarding Funders related to program compliance.
  • In collaboration with the compliance manager, monitors grant budgets and expenditures to ensure targets are met.
  • Provides regularly scheduled status reports on grant implementation in conjunction with grant accountant and program reports.
  • Works with Program Directors, Compliance Manager and Data Analyst/ Program Strategist to gather data for reports.
  • Prepare and/or coordinate program reports for submission to the granting authority according to grant guideline schedules and additional reporting as designed to steward relationships with granting authority.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities
  • Must be willing to perform by the agency's values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self- control and joy
  • Catholic Charities promotes a diverse workforce. This requirement includes any public speech, demonstration, or writing including the use of social media or other digital technologies
  • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required
  • Bachelor Degree in non-profit management, English, Journalism or related field
  • 6+ years experience in grants management including Government grants
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet grant deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within team-based environment that is very diverse
  • Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver's license, dependable transportation, current vehicle insurance, and a verified safe driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Must have the physical ability to complete assignments in a variety of environments: homes of those we serve, extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases
  • Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of environments that may include walking on rough terrain and climbing stairs
  • Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others
  • Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving
