Northeast Region Sales Manager

Title: Northeast Region Sales Manager-Retail

Department: Sales

Reports to: East Division Sales Manager

Effective Date: February 2026


Summary of Position

This position is responsible for customer activity in the Northeast Territory. Responsibilities include managing Broker Market Network, key account development, maintaining and surpassing sales territory volume and regional sales goals. Responsible for driving results through improved sales and brand awareness for all BNJ products. This position also has the responsibility for calling on any customers deemed necessary by the VP of Sales.

Essential Job Duties

  • Manage Broker Network in assigned Market. Execute National Broker objectives and local initiatives.
  • Maintain and expand the customer base by building rapport with customers and continuously servicing their needs.
  • Identify key accounts and product opportunities.
  • Design and implement sales strategies.
  • Maintain and increase sales.
  • Increase business opportunities through networking events.
  • Identify and participate in trade shows.
  • Build and deliver sales presentations.
  • Keep up to date with competitor information and industry trends.
  • Ensure customer feedback is organized and presented to management.
  • Develop territory expansion recommendations and review with Division Manager.
  • Submit weekly and monthly sales activity report, expenses and itinerary as required on a timely basis.
  • Be an ambassador for all BNJ brand and products while upholding BNJ’s mission and values.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Ideally located in NY, NJ, CT or MA
  • 5 to 8 years in food sales including at least 3 years of sales broker management experience
  • Knowledge of food and baking industry competition, specific of:
  1. Retail chains
  2. Grocery distributors
  3. Bakery distributors
  • Local and regional chain account experience within defined markets
  • Working knowledge of DOT food regional programs
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and patterns
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and other CRM & Sales reporting software
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time with overnight stay

  • Thorough knowledge of budget items to include the following:
  • Sales forecasts
  • Operational expenses
  • Corporate profit margins
  • Working knowledge of food and baking to include commercial baking experience
  • Creativity with developing and implementing trade promotions
  • Collaboration with the team and BNJ associates is key to your success


Compensation:

The typical starting salary range for this position is $107,000-$161,500 / year. Several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and the location of the job will determine the actual pay offered. The salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for associates in these positions.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
