Job description

Join our amazing team as a Park Ambassador! This position works collaboratively with the Community Outreach Coordinator and other District departments. The Park Ambassadors represent the Northbrook Park District at a variety of events and community outreach opportunities. Park Ambassadors create positive, memorable experiences with residents by sharing information and supporting onsite promotional efforts.
Pay & Schedule:
$17.00 - $20.00 Per Hour (DOQ)
This is a part time, seasonal, non-exempt position.
This role includes a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, with a focus on evenings and special events. Schedules will be provided in advance, with on-site support from the marketing team and fellow park ambassadors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Act as a welcoming and friendly ambassador for the Northbrook Park District at community events and programs, engaging with attendees and handing out promotional giveaways and materials
  • Create positive first impressions that reflect the Park District's mission and vision
  • Distribute promotional materials, giveaways and event information with enthusiasm and accuracy
  • Assist with event setup and take down of promotional spaces
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Park District in a positive manner
  • Lead engaging outreach opportunities such as interactive games or contests
  • Communicate event observations, supply needs or customer feedback to supervisors
  • Support administrative tasks related to event logistics or promotional inventories
  • Responsible for restocking marketing inventory that is taken for an event or vendor opportunity
  • Visit local businesses and parks to share information about programs and sponsorship opportunities

Must be 18 years of age or older with an interest in interacting with the public and representing the Park District in a professional manner. Schedule is flexible, based on scheduled events. This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
