Job description

Job Title: Dishwasher
Location: Vibrant Assisted Living Community
Position Type: PRN-As Needed
(Ability to work flexible hours, including
Weekends and holidays, as needed by the community.)
Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports To: Executive Director
Pay Range: $11.00 – $16.00
(Pay range is commensurate with experience and operational needs.)
Job Summary:
As a Dishwasher at Vibrant Assisted Living, you play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our kitchen and dining areas. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations. Your attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to creating a pleasant dining experience for our residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and any other items as instructed.

  • Sort and stack clean dishes, ensuring they are stored properly and ready for use.
  • Assist with kitchen and dining room maintenance tasks, such as sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning food preparation areas.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely dishwashing during peak hours.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or food service environment is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with residents, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service to residents.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and attendance.
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations and emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of sanitary dishwashing practices.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in a hot, humid environment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead to perform job duties.
