What are Memory Care Program Directors?

Memory Care Program Directors are professionals responsible for overseeing specialized care programs for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions. They manage daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure that residents receive high-quality, person-centered care. Lead with Purpose. Inspire Your Team. Change Lives Every Day.
Sundale Senior Living is seeking an experienced Director of Memory Care to lead Keepsake Gardens, our secure 34-resident Memory Care community in The Woodlands, Texas.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about serving individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. As the Director of Memory Care, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 20-30 caregivers and Life Enrichment professionals, creating an environment where residents receive exceptional person-centered care and employees are engaged, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Unlike many leadership positions, you'll spend approximately 80% of your time on the floorworking alongside caregivers, engaging with residents, mentoring your team, and partnering with families. The remaining time is focused on staffing, scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and departmental leadership.
If you're an experienced Memory Care leader who enjoys building great teams while improving the lives of seniors, we'd love to meet you.
Why Join Sundale Senior Living?
At Sundale, we believe exceptional Memory Care begins with exceptional leadership. We empower our leaders to make decisions, develop their teams, and create meaningful experiences for residents every day.

  • Spend the majority of your day with residents and your team—not behind a desk
  • Collaborate with a supportive Executive Director and leadership team
  • Help shape programming, team culture, and resident outcomes
  • Opportunities for professional growth and continuing education
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits

What You'll Do
Lead & Develop Your Team
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing team of caregivers and Life Enrichment professionals.
  • Foster a culture of servant leadership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development conversations.
  • Build employee engagement while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and managing labor costs.
Deliver Exceptional Resident Care
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents through daily interaction.
  • Lead a seven-day Memory Care engagement program that promotes dignity, purpose, and quality of life.
  • Support person-centered dementia care using evidence-based best practices.
  • Conduct cognitive and psychosocial assessments.
  • Participate in resident care conferences and individualized service planning.
  • Partner with nursing leadership to ensure outstanding resident outcomes.
Build Strong Family Relationships
  • Develop trusted relationships with residents' families.
  • Communicate resident updates with empathy, professionalism, and transparency.
  • Resolve concerns promptly while delivering an exceptional family experience.
  • Support Memory Care tours and new resident transitions.
Oversee Department Operations
  • Manage the daily operations of the Memory Care neighborhood.
  • Ensure compliance with Texas Assisted Living regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain survey readiness and quality standards.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll, departmental budgets, and documentation.
  • Maintain infection prevention, resident safety, and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation.
  • Support occupancy and community outreach initiatives.
