  • Overseeing the evaluation, selection, and integration of emerging technologies, ensuring they align with industry trends and best practices.
  • Leading IT reviews, audits, and optimization efforts to maintain a resilient and future-proof IT infrastructure.
  • Leading ITSM initiatives (ITIL-based) to optimize service delivery, including incident management, change management, and service continuity for high-availability systems.
  • Communicating complex IT strategies to non-technical stakeholders, including senior military officials, interagency partners, and external contractors.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Have strategic vision to align the organization's IT strategy with DoD's national security priorities and anticipate technological disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in a CTO or equivalent senior technology leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in building technology strategies that align with business plans, managing IT/R&D budgets, and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to conduct technological analyses, evaluate emerging trends, and decide which platforms, languages, or infrastructures yield a long-term competitive advantage
  • Ability to recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent while fostering an innovative and collaborative culture
  • The capability to translate highly complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in scaling SaaS platforms, cloud-native infrastructure, or enterprise software products through rapid growth phases.
