Must Have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Machine Safety and Ergonomic Standards
- Mechanism design and development experience using CAD (Creo or SolidWorks preferred)
- Practical experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication (Manual bending brake, shear, etc.)
- Practical experience in the manufacture of complex instruments
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the medical industry
- Practical experience in Machining (Manual Mills, Lathes, etc.)
- Validation and process development experience
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
- Utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools, such as CAD, ProEngineer, Solidworks.
- Gather information, conduct studies, compute calculations, and prepare original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposals.
- Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Technician Support Career Stream
Provide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures, and perform detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
