Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.As a Commodity Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for producing consolidated hedging reports and conducting detailed analysis on commodity markets that are crucial to Smithfield's operations.

You'll work closely with the Commodities Team to enhance reporting capabilities and contribute to data-driven decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in commodities while making a tangible impact on the business. WHAT YOU'LL DO:The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.

They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified. May perform other duties as assigned.Hedging Report Management: Develop and manage consolidated commodity hedging reports. Assist in building PowerPoint presentations.Collaboration with Finance and Accounting: Work in conjunction with Finance and Accounting to ensure compliance with company policies and protocols; provide data analysis support to the hedging team.Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions and communicate results to appropriate parties.Economic and Industry Monitoring: Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments by analyzing information from various sources to make informed decisions pertaining to the business.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required . Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or related field, and 2+ years relevant experience in an accounting or finance role at an audit or financial institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.In lieu of experience a candidate with a Master's Degree from a four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting will be considered qualified.Experience working in a commodity related role and understanding of the agri-business environment a plus.Strong analytical, logic and problem-solving skills.Ability to interpret/communicate results.Demonstrated knowledge and working ability of Microsoft Office Suite: highly proficient in Excel with the ability to run extensive and complex reports and queries.Must possess independent decision-making abilities; strong oral and written presentation skills.
