Job description

Role: Portable Metrology Engineer
Client: DOD-Aerospace
Location: York, PA
Duration: 12-month contract
Schedule: Second Shift (3:15pm to 1:45am)
Hourly Rate: up to $46/hr (W2, non-benefited)
You must be a US Citizen to apply.  
 
Position Description:
  • Conduct inspection and dimensional report generation utilizing laser trackers, Faro arms and high volume scanners.
  • Generating detailed inspection reports for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality
  • Conducting laser inspections of new design installations for integration into manufacturing
  • Performing inspection tasks for new designs and design changes
  • Interfacing with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to address product issues
  • Creating and delivering quality inspection plans and reports that provide data to Manufacturing and customers
  • Reviewing inspection data and assisting in the development preventative action plans
  • Retrieving quality data and communicating results and statuses to internal and external customers
 
Required Skills:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Experience using PolyWorks software
  • Experience using the following measurement/inspection equipment:
    1. Portable CMM
    2. Laser Tracker
    3. High Volume Scanner (ex. Surphaser)
 
Skills Preferred
  • Engineering experience with relevant applications in a defense environment
  • Specialized technical knowledge of relevant military and commercial design standards
  • Knowledge of mechanical design
  • Knowledge of assembly processes
  • Experience with PTC Creo, SolidWorkds or other modeling software
 
Experience Required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Experience using PolyWorks software
  • 4 year technical degree or relevant experience
  • Experience using the following measurement/inspection equipment: 
    1. Portable CMM
    2. Laser Tracker
    3. High Volume Scanner (ex. Surphaser)
