Job description

SSM Health Dermatology's mission is to strive as a team for excellence by providing the most comprehensive, patient-centered care every day. We are looking for a Medical Assistant to contribute in their own unique way to our Company’s exceptional services and performance for our patients.

Objective:

Under direct supervision of leadership, the Medical Assistant/Scribe will serve as direct support for the Dermatologists in the Mustang Oklahoma Clinic. The primary goal of the Medical Assistant/Scribe is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the Dermatologist, allowing the Dermatologist to focus on the patient.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a medical assistant or certified nursing assistant.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Job Duties:

  • Understand and follow complex technical instructions.
  • Communicate effectively and assertively while demonstrating compassion and empathy for individual situations.
  • Understand medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments.
  • Complies with all state, federal, and organizational policies, and procedures.
  • All clinical aspects of rooming a patient including assisting provider with procedures.
  • Transcribe real time examinations into EMR.
  • Communicate test results to patient via MyChart message, telephone call, or registered letter.
  • Track, manage, and document results in Pathology book.
  • Complete prior authorizations for non-biologic medications.
  • Maintain supplies, material and equipment in patient rooms or pod.
  • Travel to and provide coverage as assigned
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, Some college preferred 2+ years of experience.
  • Maintenance of current Basic Life Support (BLS).
