Job description

Laboratory Supervisor II — Hematology

Allied Health — Laboratory  |  Full-Time  |  Onsite  |  Sanford, Florida

Compensation: $78,000 – $107,000 base salary  |  $5,000 annual target bonus  |  Full benefits

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor II with recent hematology expertise to join a national laboratory based in Central Florida. In this role you will provide supervision across multiple laboratory functions, with primary focus on hematology testing, workflow management from sample processing through results reporting, and day-to-day coaching and performance guidance for laboratory teammates. You will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.

Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, with one Saturday every 12 weeks (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM). This is a day shift supervisor position.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee hematology laboratory testing operations and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of results
  • Monitor and manage workflow from sample processing through departmental workflow to results reporting
  • Evaluate and enforce compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality requirements
  • Provide day-to-day performance guidance, coaching, and support to laboratory teammates
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures covering job performance, customer interactions, teammate relations, and information confidentiality
  • Serve as a licensed technical supervisor and subject matter expert in hematology
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager on operational improvements and regulatory readiness

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications ★

  • ★ Minimum 6–8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor
  • ★ Florida Supervisory License in Hematology
  • ★ Certification by a professional laboratory certifying agency — ASCP or AMT
  • ★ Recent, hands-on hematology experience
  • ★ Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising in a high-volume or national reference laboratory environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop laboratory staff
  • Strong working knowledge of workflow optimization and quality management processes
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
