A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
HSHS St. Mary's Hospital - Decatur is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team.
Ideal candidates are patient-focused, mission-driven individuals who provide high-quality physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, documenting care, and communicating patient responses to the supervising Physical Therapist. The PTA serves as an educator and advocate for patients and their families, promoting safe mobility, functional independence, and overall wellness. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, supporting therapy program goals, and participating in ongoing professional development to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Position Specifics:
oDepartment: Rehab, Outpatient
o Core Function: Rehab/Therapy/Sleep
o Full-time, Day Shift (40 hours/week). Flexible scheduling options include 4 10-hour shifts, 4 9-hour shifts, or 5 8-hour shifts, with hours scheduled between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, no weekend or holiday coverage requirements.
o Facility: St. Mary's Hospital
o Clinic Location: Decatur, IL
o Compensation that aligns with your experience
*This position primarily focuses on treating a general orthopedic population. We also welcome PTA's with an interest in specialty areas as well.

  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment is required.
  • ILLINOIS: Following physical therapy philosophies and standards of care set by Illinois Physical Therapy Act and other applicable governing agencies, licensure is required within 1 year for individuals meeting all other applicable requirements.
