Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. Ensure direct patient communication, critical thinking and problem solving. Work directly with Providers in the clinical setting.


MA float - will be paying mileage and drive time. $1,000 sign on bonus (Team member must work 6 months or will be required to pay sign-on bonus back. Sign on bonus will be included in first paycheck.)


Hours will vary by clinic and day, typically ranging from 7:15 AMโ€“6:00 PM. 4 days a week. Monday-Friday Schedule subject to change frequently.

You will be floating between Urbana, Decatur Ash, Decatur Monroe, Gibson city, and Mattoon.


Pay Range-$21-$24 based on experience in dermatology and surgery


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist Providers with patient office visits: rooming patients, collecting and presenting History of Presenting Illness (HPI), entering pertinent medical history, updating medications, obtaining consents, printing relevant handouts, providing quotes, and recording vital signs (e.g., pulse rate, blood pressure, height, weight). โ€ข
  • Scribe for both basic office visits (e.g., warts, molluscum, acne, TBSE) and complex visits (e.g., Botox, filler, cosmetic consults, laser, Mohs surgery).
  • Anticipate patient and physician needs and prepare accordingly.
  • Prepare and review patient charts prior to appointments; ensure chart completeness and resolve deficiencies using internal and external resources.
  • Proficiently use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and EMN to retrieve patient history, pathology, and other documentation.
  • Organize and maintain exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and restocking of supplies.
  • Set up and assist Providers with procedures (e.g., shave, punch, EE, biopsies, Botox, fillers, and other cosmetic or medical procedures).
  • Initiate and complete biologic prior authorizations and prescriptions.
  • Manage autoclave and clean dermatologic instruments.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings as directed.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including form completions, prescription refills, referrals, patient education materials, scanning documents, and maintaining records.
  • Answer phones, triage patient calls, take messages, and troubleshoot patient concerns.
  • Support training of other Medical Assistants (MAs) or team members.
  • Provide patient care in a manner that optimizes safety and minimizes healthcare errors. .
  • Demonstrate appropriate handling and disposal of Biohazardous Waste.
  • Follow infection control protocols and sterilization procedures.
