Traveling Medical Assistant / Patient Care Assistant (PCA)

We are currently seeking a dependable, compassionate, and organized Traveling Medical Assistant or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support our expanding clinical operations in the Altoona, Pennsylvania area.

Summary

The Traveling Medical Assistant/PCA serves as the on-site liaison between facility staff, residents, and the Wells Health clinical team. This position plays an important role in coordinating telehealth appointments by preparing residents, assisting with virtual visits, documenting basic information, and ensuring each appointment runs efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Travel between assigned skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

  • Coordinate telehealth appointments between residents and Wells Health providers.

  • Prepare residents for scheduled virtual visits.

  • Assist residents during telehealth appointments as needed.

  • Set up and troubleshoot tablets or other telehealth equipment.

  • Document appointment completion and communicate with the clinical team.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Build positive relationships with facility staff and residents.

  • Report concerns or changes in resident condition to the appropriate clinical staff.

  • Ensure all assigned appointments are completed accurately and on time.

  • Travel to multiple facilities throughout the Altoona service area.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Medical Assistant certification or experience as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to travel between facilities during the workday.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and basic computer applications.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent organizational skills.
