Job SummaryThe Commercial Loan Assistant is responsible for supporting commercial loan officers by performing various administrative functions.ย  They will become a key contact person to commercial customers when the lender is unavailable by providing a high level of customer support.ย Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Service commercial lender portfolios by answering telephone calls, responding to emails, and responding to other inquiries in a timely fashion. Assist customers with the transfer of funds, loan payments, setting up auto payments, and any additional requests they may have.
  • Assist lenders with the evaluation of loan requests by:
    • Ordering credit reports
    • Gathering financial information and maintaining current imaged files, following up on exceptions as needed.
    • At times, assisting the lender in preparing forms to be sent for loan approval.
    • Dependent upon work location, at times, assist customers with consumer loan requests.
  • Coordinate the preparation of loan documentation for new loans, renewals, extensions, modifications, and letters of credit by:
    • Gathering all necessary information for the loan
    • Evaluating entity documentation
    • Order and follow up on appraisal actions
    • Order title commitments or lien searches. Work with the title companies to close new real estate loans, clear exceptions, and construction draw requests
    • Complete documentation request forms ensuring requests are completed per terms of loan approval documents
    • Obtain Certificates of Good Standing and UCC Searches
    • Obtain loan payoffs
    • Effectively communicate with the loan processing team and ensure the successful completion of loan documentation.
    • Review loan documentation for accuracy prior to closing.
    • Assist with scheduling of loan closings and conducting loan closings if requested by lender
    • Disburse loan proceeds and loan advances as requested
  • Assist with loan administration issues including:
    • Work closely with the loan servicing team regarding customer & loan maintenance issues
    • Obtain collateral releases as requested
    • Work with lead and participant banks as necessary
    • Compliance with bank policies and procedures
