BERT OGDEN MCALLEN NISSAN SERVICE LINE TECHNICIAN


POSITION TITLE: Line Mechanic

DEPARTMENT: Service

REPORTS TO: Service Manager


PURPOSE:

The Line Mechanic will be responsible for performing work assigned to him and for overseeing the work of the apprentice mechanic assigned to him. To ensure technical competence he will be required to attend factory sponsored training classes and to familiarize himself with the technical bulletins as sent down by the factory. He will also be responsible for maintaining a wholesome relationship with customers who return with unsatisfactory work in accordance with dealership policies and standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • To receive repair order from Dispatcher and bring car to stall area.
  • To perform work as outlined on repair order with speed and thoroughness.
  • To advise Service Salesman if additional work is needed or if specific work as outlined is not necessary.
  • To supervise work of apprentice mechanic assigned to him.
  • To maintain level of competence on a technical basis.
  • To attend all factory sponsored training classes and dealership training sessions.
  • To familiarize himself with all technical bulletins as handed down by the factory.
  • To call upon the Shop Foreman for assistance when the need arises.
  • To ensure that the dealership retains a "satisfied customer" image.
  • To keep cars clean while working on them.
  • To maintain cooperative relationship with customer and Service Manager on all come-back work.
  • To keep work clothes, equipment, and stalls as clean as possible.
  • Will notify management when customers car has been damaged

Requirements

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Must have a valid Texas driver license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening test.
  • Must be able to pass a background screening.
