Job description

Division/Department: Depot/Parking

Job Title: Parking Attendant 

Reports To: Co-reports to Parking Lead and Cleaning & Parking Manager

Type of position: Seasonal, Non-Exempt

Employee Classification: Seasonal

Location: Bryson City, NC

Compensation: $15-18 hourly

Job Summary: Coordinate vehicular and pedestrian traffic in accordance with the company parking plan. Interact effectively with coworkers and guests. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Greet customers with a smile. Verify they are riding the current trip and direct them to appropriate parking lot.
•    Ensure traffic cones and barriers are in place at the beginning of the shift and returned to the parking shed at end of the shift.
•    Be in position to direct and assist passengers in the parking lot. Direct pedestrians to the Depot, museum, and boarding stations.
•    Direct handicapped passengers to the designated area next to the ticket office.
•    Other duties as requested by department supervisor or GSMR management.

Work Environment:

  • Prolonged Standing and continuous walking
  • Various parking areas on property to include A;B, D;E, and overflow in lot C, Municipal Building, and church parking lot
  • Exposure to all weather conditions

Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:

  • •    Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. 
    •    Must be able to work in various types of weather conditions.
    •    Must wear and use company-provided safety vest.
    •    Day, night, and weekend availability required.
    •    Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
