Location & Schedule:

This position will report to the airfield at Denver International Airport. The shifts will consists of 4 -10 hour days (Sunday-Wednesday, OR Wednesday-Saturday). Candidates should have flexibility to work either a day, swing, or night shift.

The Airside Operations team at Denver International Airport (DEN) has an opening for an Airport Operations Officer (AOO) otherwise known as an Assistant Airport Operations Manager (AAOM). This position will work with a team of other AAOM's and the Airport Operations Supervisor (AOS)/Airport Operations Manager (AOM) to manage the day-to-day operations at Denver International Airport to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public and airport employees. In this position you will work on the airfield to monitor compliance of airport/ federal regulations. You will also assist with other activities, such as TSAR 1542 compliance, emergency management and snow removal operations. In this position you will have the opportunity to learn all about airfield management and airport operations, with additional responsibilities and potential growth.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Airport Operations Supervisor in managing, coordinating, and resolving emergencies, security issues, environmental events, and other unusual conditions impacting operations.

  • Serve as a co-responder under 34 U.S.C. & 10705 during fire, medical, hazardous material, and other emergencies, working closely with Denver Police, Fire, EMS, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and other agencies.

  • Respond to aircraft incidents, hazardous spills, structural fires, severe weather, security threats, and mental health crises affecting the traveling public.

  • Support the Incident Commander during airport emergencies such as aircraft alerts, snow operations, IROPS, and security breaches; may assume Incident Commander responsibilities as delegated.

  • Inspects runway, taxiway, and ramp areas for changing surface conditions and advises the AOM on those conditions and other events affecting airport operations. Coordinates the issuance of Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) as directed

  • Creates work orders within the airport work order system to address regulatory compliance with airfield maintenance and repair needs. Monitors and assesses the completeness of work by others to ensure it conforms with acceptable 14 CFR Part 139 standards and requests corrective action if necessary

  • Assists in the coordination and execution of snow removal activities on all runways, movement and non-movement area taxiways, deice pads, concourse gate areas, aircraft rescue and response roads, emergency response gates, and all airfield vehicle service roads. Utilizes specialized runway friction measuring equipment to track and report runway friction values for rubber removal maintenance program and during snow operations

  • Keeps current on all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations relating to the position, Airport Security Program and TSA security directives. Maintains proficiency by passing regularly scheduled examinations

  • Operates automated and networked information display systems, video cameras, monitors, and radio/ communication systems.

  • Participate in drone operations which may include mapping and inspections across the facility and airfield

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, or a related field preferred

  • Part 107 UAS Remote Pilot license

  • Three years' experience in aviation operations

  • One-year experience in aviation snow removal

  • 14 CFR Part 139 experience

  • AAAE certifications

  • Work schedule flexibility as DEN is a 24/7/365 operation

  • Able to adapt to a changing work environment

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

  • Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience of the type and at the level of Aviation Operations Representative or equivalent in an aviation environment.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.

  • License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

  • License must be kept current as a condition of employment.
