Locum - NP/PA - Trauma Surgery in Atlantic City, NJ
Join a leading healthcare facility in Atlantic City, NJ, as a Locum Advanced Practice Provider (NP with RNFA or PA) specializing in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. This position is located at a Level II Trauma Center, known for its commitment to high-quality patient care and professional support.
Immediate coverage is needed through October, with 12-hour shifts available (7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM). Weekends and night shifts may be scheduled as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for trauma alerts, inpatient care, operating room functions, and rounding.
  • Conduct trauma alerts and surgical consultations.
  • Manage admissions, rounding, and OR support for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
  • Facilitate patient discharges, ER admissions, and participate in house codes/rapid response teams.
  • Perform procedures including ventilation management, chest tube placement, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, and PICC line placement.
  • Suture minor lacerations and provide non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP).
Qualifications:
  • NP or PA with RNFA (if NP) - [REQUIRED]
  • Active New Jersey State License - [REQUIRED]
  • BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN Certifications - [REQUIRED]
  • Experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery - [REQUIRED]
  • Proficiency in trauma alerts, OR support, inpatient rounding, and ER admissions - [REQUIRED]
  • Experience with ventilation management and other relevant procedures - [REQUIRED]
  • Experience responding to ED for trauma alerts and surgical consultations - [REQUIRED]
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR is preferred.
  • Self-query NPDB (within 30 days of presentation) - [REQUIRED]
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Active New Jersey State License - [REQUIRED]
  • BLS Certification - [REQUIRED]
  • ACLS Certification - [REQUIRED]
  • ATLS or ATCN Certification - [REQUIRED]
