Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity in Springfield, OH

Join a leading healthcare facility in Springfield, Ohio, recognized for its full-service acute care capabilities. This hospital provides comprehensive medical services in a supportive environment, prioritizing patient care. We are looking for a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide call coverage, assisting in the office/clinic setting, and delivering high-quality surgical care.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide call coverage for cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
  • Conduct general CV/thoracic/vascular surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve repair/replacements, and aneurysm repairs.
  • Evaluate and manage cases related to acute volume and blood pressure issues.
  • Perform bronchoscopy and oversee ventilation management.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including advanced practice providers (APPs).
  • Document all patient interactions and procedures using the EPIC system.
  • Participate in inpatient care with a focus on adult patient caseloads.
  • Be available for both weekday and weekend coverage as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery (required).
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
  • Current Ohio state license or IMLC (expected at time of submission) (required).
  • Experience in vascular surgery is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Clean malpractice and background, with low payouts and dismissed findings (highly preferred).
  • Availability for specified call coverage dates (required).
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Board Certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Ohio state medical license or IMLC eligibility.
