General Description
SUNY Niagara has a need for part time Welding Instructors to teach Welding courses in the Business, Technology & Arts department.
Classes are held afternoons/early evenings on the BOCES Sanborn campus.
Remuneration for this position is: $1,008 per lecture hour/$903 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Candidates who submit their information may or may not be notified as to the status of their application.
Typical Work Activities
Courses range from Introduction to Welding through Welding Certification. Lessons will be administered according to pre-developed courses taught through practical application.
Essential Functions
Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Welding
  • Experience with programing Lincoln torch mate plasma table
  • Familiarity / operations of Miller welding equipment such as 350P mig, and Syncrowave 300 for stick and tig process

Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding
  • Certification in any of the processes of welding
