About the Role:
Trauma Registrar
Help Drive Excellence in Trauma Care Through Accurate Data and Quality Outcomes
Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking a detail-oriented Trauma Registrar to support our Trauma Services team. In this role, you'll be responsible for trauma registry data abstraction, coding, and reporting that supports performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care.
Ideal candidates will have Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR).
What You'll Do
  • Identify patients meeting trauma registry criteria
  • Abstract and analyze medical record data
  • Assign AIS, ISS, and ICD-10 codes
  • Ensure timely, accurate data entry and reporting
  • Support trauma program quality initiatives and education efforts
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of registry experience (Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, Cancer, or similar)
  • 2 years of healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10 coding, and chart abstraction

Preferred:
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) or ability to obtain within two years of eligibility

Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with flexibility based on department needs.
