Job description

Position Overview

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Dermatology team in Wellesley, MA.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions in Dermatology. Determines urgent versus emergent problems and triages patients to appropriate specialty physicians. Assesses and treats patients with support from other physician colleagues. May develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments.
  • Performs minor operative procedures including suturing and lesion excision.
  • Collaborates with the physician in the management of patient care. Such support may include ordering and interpreting laboratory work and other diagnostic studies, assisting the physician in operative procedures, performing pre‑operative histories and physical exams, and maintaining continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies.
  • This is a full time position, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program
  • Active and unrestricted PA license in the State of Massachusetts
  • Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post‑hire, per state regulations
  • Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post‑hire, per state regulations
  • Two years of experience in Dermatology
  • Maintains BLS certification, professional certification as appropriate
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $113,000 - $173,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401(k) contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
