Balanced Body is looking to promote a go-getter with the right attitude to lead, mentor and coach employees. As a Crew Leader, you will be expected to provide direction and leadership to your team on a variety of tasks. You will work closely with your supervisor to define the daily, weekly and monthly goals and ensure your team is meeting expectations. You will ensure the team has all the necessary training, tools and resources to accomplish their assigned tasks. We are looking for hands-on leader who breathes Lean Manufacturing.


While this is an exciting opportunity for professional growth, it is not meant for everyone! Being a crew leader is difficult. You will have the responsibility to observe, correct, coach, discipline, work on the line and make some very difficult decisions. You will respond to difficult situations. You will also have the pleasure of watching your team grow, develop and hopefully mentor the next crew leader. You will find the support of your Supervisor, Manager and HR to help make you successful!

Area of Responsibility:

The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following function:

  • Analyze system (Business Central "BC") requirements and ensure team accomplishes daily production planning. Responsible to ensure completions in BC are done correctly
  • Participate in daily production cell activities
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory in their assigned departments and regular audits will be performed by the supervisor to ensure inventory is properly maintained
  • Facilitate inventory audits with department supervisors
  • Provide support with processing orders with purchasing department
  • Train new employees
  • Coach, mentor and provide leadership to employees; Crew leads are responsible for the growth development, corrective actions and reviews of the employees within their department with support of supervisor and HR as needed
  • Maintain and follow all safety guidelines/procedures/activities throughout the production floor. Participate in all safety meetings/trainings applicable
  • Maintenance team tools to ensure operational and all safety protocols are met
  • Adapt effectively and efficiently to production changes and work with team to do the same
  • Initiative to improve production performance while maintaining a high level of performance without compromising the quality of our products
  • Participate in interviewing, evaluating and making a recommendation on candidates;
  • Promote a positive environment by motivating team

Requirements

  • At least three years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacture and 5s standards
  • Strong attendance record
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs
  • Maintain and organize a clean work area
  • Knowledge of MS office is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Active listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to methodically, strategically and collaboratively make decisions, solve problems and foster innovation

Work Schedule:

The department has two schedules. Day shift (Monday to Friday, 5AM to 1:30PM) and swing shift (Monday to Thursday, 2:15PM to 12:45AM). Crew Leads should have flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet the production requirements.
