$1,000 Sign-on Bonus!

The Times Union is seeking an experienced offset journeyman pressperson to join its Albany, NY, production operation. If hired, you will work with a close-knit team responsible for maintaining and operating a state-of-the-art KBA Commander CL press that produces Times Union and numerous commercial print publications in a high-quality and cost-effective manner, seven days a week.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of web offset newspaper or commercial printing experience.
  • Able to produce high-quality print results on a consistent basis.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency with computerized press controls and operator interfaces.
  • Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude for newspaper printing operations, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Hours:  Primarily evenings and weekend evenings, but hours can vary based on training and production needs.

Pay:  This is a union position with an hourly journeyman rate of $37.39.

Sign-on Bonus: Receive $500.00 after 90 days and $500 after 6 months of satisfactory employment.
