Giro Pack, Inc. is seeking an Printing Assistant to support production operations at our Vidalia, GA. location. The Printing Assistant plays an integral part in the manufacturing of products within the fruit/vegetable packaging industry while conducting general labor tasks and assisting pressman in safely meeting the daily quality/production printing goals as set by the Printing Manager.

Ink Assistant job duties include:

  • Supply presses with the required inks and solvents
  • Transfer inks from totes to operative buckets
  • Complete required ink production forms
  • Move scrap/defective material to proper location and dispose of waste product
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow inspection procedures
  • Use proper PPE when necessary
  • ​Ensure ink is properly stored and labeled
  • Follow planning order and work priorities
  • Clean machines according to procedures
  • Report all safety/equipment concerns to manager immediately
  • Conduct other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements and skills:

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.)
  • Good mathematical and measurement skills
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of flexographic printing and solvent based ink systems preferred
  • Commitment to safety rules
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Very good vision and ability to handle intricate, detail oriented work
  • Warehouse experience is an asset, but not necessary
  • Must be able/willing to work a flexible schedule

Job Type: Full-time
