Job Description SummaryThe Student Orientation Leader serves as a highly visible, front-facing ambassador for Saint Leo University and plays a central leadership role in delivering an exceptional new student orientation experience. This position is the first line of connection for incoming students and their families. Orientation Assistants lead orientation sessions, facilitate small groups, present on university resources, guide campus tours, and actively represent Saint Leo's mission, values, and student experience in a dynamic and positive manner. These student leaders help shape first impressions, build community, and transmit Saint Leo pride with energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm at all times.Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as an official Saint Leo University Orientation Leader and student ambassador.
  • Lead and facilitate New Student Orientation sessions for incoming students and families.
  • Present on behalf of university offices and departments (Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety, Career Services, Housing, etc.) as trained.
  • Guide engaging campus tours highlighting key facilities, traditions, and student life experiences.
  • Facilitate small-group discussions to help students build connections and transition successfully to Saint Leo.
  • Model Saint Leo pride, professionalism, and school spirit at all times.
  • Represent the university positively in all interactions with students, families, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist with high-energy welcome activities, icebreakers, and community-building experiences.
  • Provide accurate information about campus resources, policies, and student involvement opportunities.
  • Support orientation event logistics including setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Engage with students through in-person communication, email, and social media outreach.
  • Assist with promoting orientation programs through social media, digital platforms, and marketing efforts.
  • Support ongoing engagement initiatives throughout the academic year that help new students remain connected.
  • Participate in required training sessions to prepare for public speaking, facilitation, and leadership responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Student Engagement & Leadership professional staff.
