Job description

Reporting to the Director of Antenna Systems, this position is responsible for overseeing the full cycle of hardware systems development and integration from requirements to final production. Responsibilities include: Requirements definition (with coordination with appropriate SMEs) for electronics, embedded software, mechanical and RF modules and related interfaces; System architecture development with an emphasis on quality, testability, serviceability and manufacturability of the final product; Testing and Integration oversight to guarantee compliance with the system requirements and any regulatory/agency requirements such as MIL-STD810, RoHS, REACH, FCC, AS9100; Coordinate common understanding of system technical requirements, architectures and interfaces among various engineering disciplines such as antenna, mechanical, electrical, software, test and other stakeholders such as product and project managers through up to date, thorough system documentation and presentations; Promote compliance to the ISO 9001 and PLM best practices and procedures.
The position is based in Germantown, MD.
YOUR WORK AT MAXTENA WILL INCLUDE:
  • Gather, analyze and translate market requirements to technical requirements.
  • Develop hardware system architectures including relationships and interfaces of mechanical, electronic and software modules.
  • Functions as Project Lead or Technical Lead for hardware development projects.
  • Collaborates with others on the design and specification of product architectures.
  • Assists in developing testing methodologies.
  • Oversee and assure system compliance to documented requirements.
  • Analyze and solve complex technical problems.
  • Provide process improvement ideas and best practices for use throughout the development initiatives.
  • Lead system design reviews.
  • Maintain technical project collateral, artifacts and documents.
  • Assist and mentor less senior team members.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Master of Science degree in an Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Ten years product development experience in Industrial or Military Systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment utilizing a state of the art product development lifecycle management framework and supporting tools
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Ability to coordinate multi-discipline engineering activities and drive successful project completion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory agency requirements such as MIL-STD-810, Rohs/Reach, FCC, UL, etc.
