Job Description SummaryThe Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job Description

The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering a world-class training experience in support of integrated technical systems and networking devices for internal and external customers. This role owns and supports training-related activities for assigned products and programs, including systems-based instruction, curriculum development, digital learning content, customer interface, cross-functional coordination, engineering engagement, and new product introduction support. The position requires both systems engineering knowledge and technical training expertise to explain how products function within larger operational environments.

Individuals selected for this internship will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge ofsystems engineering principles, including requirements, interfaces, integration, verification, and operational concepts, to support training content and user understanding.
  • Translate complexsystems engineering and networking conceptsinto clear, practical instruction for operators, technicians, maintainers, and customers with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Develop and maintain training content that reflectssystem architecture, subsystem interactions, interface dependencies, configuration changes, and engineering updates.
  • Coordinate with engineering and cross-functional teams to incorporateproduct updates, configuration changes, design revisions, and new product introduction (NPI)activities into training programs.
  • Support structuredsystem-level and device-level troubleshootinginstruction to improve learner effectiveness and operational readiness.
  • Serve as thesubject matter expert (SME)for assigned integrated systems, networking devices, and related training programs.
  • Deliver technical training on networking devices and integrated systems, includinginstallation, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Develop, update, and manage technical training materials, includinglesson plans, practical exercises, lab content, digital learning tools, job aids, and customer-facing instructional materials.
  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training solutions that support product, program, and operational requirements.
  • Support training delivery inclassroom, virtual, and hands-on environments, including training conducted at customer locations, as required.
  • Ensure training content remains aligned with current product configurations, engineering intent, and customer use cases.
  • Maintain high standards fortraining quality, learner engagement, and executionacross assigned programs.
  • Ensure applicable student and employeehealth, safety, and environmental requirementsare supported in assigned training activities and facilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of Military service
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of3 years of experiencein an engineering role engaged in systems engineering, technical training, instructional delivery, maintenance, product support, customer support, or related technical roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge ofsystems engineering concepts, including requirements, interfaces, integration, verification, and system-level operation.
  • Experience training users onintegrated technical systems and/or networking devices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver complex technical information in a clear and effective manner.
  • Ability to travel as required to support customer and training delivery needs.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
