Job description

Eaton's Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is current seeking a Product Service Engineer (PSE) to join our service organization. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility with a hybrid 3x2 schedule. Relocation assistance available within the US.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.

The Product Service Engineer, PSE collaborates as a global core team member for assigned New Product Introduction (NPI) projects as the service liaison between Development Engineering, Operations and training. This includes developing and managing service plans and documentation from early prototype builds through the entire life of the product.
The primary role of the Product Service Engineer will be to support production lines from introduction to the market through end of service life with a focus on ensuring the service ability of products in order to meet our contractual service obligations with our customers. This role will be a part of the Training & Product Service Engineering team, working closely with classroom facilitators to ensure service technicians are receiving the highest value from their training curriculum.
What you'll do:
  • Influence product design and changes to ensure adherence to Eaton's safety requirements and ease of serviceability.
  • Maintain product service requirements through a partnership with product marketing and engineering teams.
  • Lead the implementation of product lifecycle planning from New Product Introduction through end-of-service life.
  • Conduct comprehensive skills analysis to understand the knowledge needs of the service organization and implement through the design, development and facilitation of instructor led training sessions through lectures and laboratory exercises.
  • Acts as a liaison with various CPS departments to execute departmental processes to effectively design, update and publish product service plans.
  • Adhere to and enforces electrical safety requirements in the training environment at all times.
  • Partner with technical publications team to inform and develop field service procedures.
  • Perform training lab equipment maintenance and repair efforts to ensure training equipment is operational at all times.
  • Create and evaluate field service resources to enhance the knowledge, skills, and effectiveness of field service employees.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer opportunities to both field service and technical support employees during initial product launches and installations.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with field resources to gather input, information, and lessons learned to be used in future product designs and enhancements.
  • Participate in and deliver key PROLaunch activities throughout new product development.

This role could be the next step in your career if you demonstrate the following experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in from an accredited institution in engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience evaluating, testing, installing, or maintaining industrial and commercial power systems equipment.

You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following:
  • Experience working on UPS and / or Lithium battery solutions
  • Two (2) years of experience training and/or mentoring others
  • Two (2) years of experience leading a team
  • Experience working in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems (Enovia PLM etc.)
