Job description

I I Stanley Company, Inc., a leading supplier of automotive lighting products, was established in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1985. Founded on the principles of respect, trust, and value, we serve a wide range of customers - domestic and foreign - by supplying them with high-quality automotive headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the quality of products and process of I I Stanley's current and new supplier base through an ongoing qualification/audit process
  • Support the customer quotation process by developing target pricing and issuing a request for quote (RFQ) from suppliers
  • Complete the purchasing portion of customer quotes while considering and trying to attain the customers target pricing
  • Support the PPAP (production Part Approval Process) system with I I Stanley suppliers
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers
  • Work with product designers to determine materials available for new products
  • Track projects to ensure the achievement of cost projections and completion timelines
  • Determine the proper source of materials and complete the appropriate internal or external sourcing requisition
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of new product purchasing to the appropriate purchasing administrator
  • Support the localization process
  • Complete other duties, tasks, or projects at the direction of the immediate supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • 2-5 years' experience in purchasing or engineering

OPTIONAL/PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and the PPAP process
  • Japanese language skills

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
