What You'll Do
As a Respiratory Therapist at WakeMed, you'll provide airway management services for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Responsibilities include:
  • Administering respiratory care procedures under physician orders
  • Managing oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, intubations/extubations
  • Performing arterial punctures, analysis, phlebotomy
  • Operating mechanical ventilation for all age groups
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to evaluate treatment effectivenes

Licensure & Certification
  • NC Respiratory Care Practitioner - Required
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Within 6 months of program completion
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Within 12 months of program completion
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP - Required based on patient population

Education
  • Associate's degree in respiratory therapy - Required
