What is a Networking Apprenticeship?

A Networking Apprenticeship is a structured training program that combines on-the-job experience with classroom learning to teach individuals the skills needed to design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer networks. Apprentices work under the supervision of experienced networking professionals and often gain hands-on experience with hardware, software, and network security. This pathway typically leads to industry-recognized certifications and prepares apprentices for entry-level roles in IT networking. Networking Apprenticeships are ideal for those looking to start a career in IT without prior experience or a college degree.

What are some common challenges faced by networking apprentices during their training, and how can they overcome them?

Networking apprentices often encounter challenges such as understanding complex network architectures, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and keeping up with rapid technological advancements. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to actively seek mentorship from experienced colleagues, participate in hands-on labs, and regularly review updated networking materials. Embracing collaboration with team members and asking questions during team meetings or project work can also foster faster learning and build confidence in tackling real-world networking problems.

Job description

Built on service. Powered by people.
Impact exists because a small group of industry leaders believed companies in our space were doing it wrong. Many prioritized margins while the people doing the work and the clients relying on it became an afterthought. Impact was built differently: invest in great people, trust them to do great work, and deliver the kind of service clients remember. That approach helped us grow from a small office technology company into a national managed services provider, while remaining privately owned and people-first.
What makes Impact special is that growth has never come at the expense of the values that got us here. We continue to reinvest in our people, our capabilities, and the opportunities ahead so employees can grow alongside the business. We've built something special, but we're far from finished. The people who join Impact now will help define what comes next.
Job Overview
As a Service Technician Apprentice, you'll join Impact's Service Team and follow a structured, hands-on training path to become a technical expert in digital office equipment/copiers. Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll learn equipment setup, implementation, troubleshooting, and service-call best practices while completing vendor certifications (Konica, Kyocera, Ricoh, and HP). This full-time, Monday-Friday role focuses on delivering excellent customer service and ensuring reliable equipment performance at client sites.
