On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Sr Network/Voice Engineer for a 6 months contract to hire opportunity in Irving, TX.

  

Sr Network/Voice Engineer Job Details

The Network Engineer team is responsible for supporting the corporate network environment consisting of 35+ sites including multiple data center facilities. Builds, maintains, and sustains new and existing networks. Support may extend from testing, troubleshooting problems, and regular maintenance to strategic planning of network upgrades and high-level performance analyses. This particular opportunity requires someone with a focus on the telecom/voice side of the network. You will be the go to person for telecom/voice issues and play a key role in developing a strategy for telecom/voice integrations, upgrades, maintenance. 


Essential Responsibilities of Network Engineer Analyst include:

  • Sets up security policies (firewalls and intrusion detection systems).
  • Monitoring, alerting, logging and error checking of LAN\WAN & telecom devices.
  • Administers network workstations to utilize one or more TCP / IP or non TCP / IP protocols.
  • Sets up new networks connecting to the existing network using a machine functioning as a router.
  • Expert at configuring UUCP communications, enabling users to exchange files.
  • Expert at troubleshooting network problems.
  • ACD/PBX troubleshooting, implementation and management
  • Call recording troubleshooting, implementation and management
  • Carrier procurement, configuration, troubleshooting and expense management.
  • Coordinates replacement of failed components with vendors.
  • Network and telecom recoverability - pre and post incident.
  • Apply hotfixes, security patches.
  • Desktop, telecom, LAN\WAN and datacenter cabling.
  • Rack and stack of equipment.
  • Technical testing/test plan development and implementation.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of the IT strategic plan.
  • Coordinates priorities between the IT department and user departments.
  • Approves and monitors major projects, IT budgets, priorities, standards, procedures, and overall IT performance.
  • Collaborates with vendor and other support teams for problem resolution.
  • Communicates with upper-management and internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed to succeed as a Network Engineer/Analyst
Qualifications
  • Very strong experience implementing, upgrading, maintaing voice/telecom systems (ShoreTel preferred. Toshiba would be nice)
  • 8+ years experience in Digital, VoiP PBX and communication technologies
  • 5+ years ACD Systems
  • 7+ years Cisco
  • 3+ years S.I.P Trunking experience
  • Proven experience with MAC
  • Call Center experience


Other Required Experience:

  • Expert level VLAN, SVLAN, IP subnetting knowledge and understanding.
  • Strong understanding/experience in voice/telecom technologies including unified communication
  • Knowledge of Auto Call Distribution Software 
  • Expert DNS knowledge.
  • Exceptional overall infrastructure knowledge (firewall, network, storage, desktop, mobile).
  • Exceptional ability to self-resolve and research technical issues.
  • Office tool functionality.
  • Understands "bleeding-edge" technical trends and apply that to decision making.
  • Strong mentoring / training skills.
  • Strong project management meeting agreed to completion dates and delivery of the desired results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience. CCNA at minimum, prefer CCNP. Bachelors in IT related field highly preferred.
