Network Voice Engineer (Contract)
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Network Voice Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise voice and network communication systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective oral and written communication abilities to interact with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, implement, and support enterprise voice and VoIP infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice systems, network connectivity, and call quality.
  • Collaborate with network and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of voice and data systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring of voice platforms and related network equipment.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams and SOPs.
  • Provide end-user support and act as a subject matter expert for voice/network communication systems.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with voice technologies such as Cisco Call Manager, SIP, VoIP, CUCM, Unity, UCCX, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, QoS).
  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex voice/network issues.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Industry certifications (CCNA Voice, CCNP Collaboration, etc.) are a plus.
