Network & Systems Engineer
Location: City of Canton, GA
Work Authorization: US Citizen

Security Clearance / Suitability

·        Must pass City background check
·        Must follow City cybersecurity and incident response policies
 
Role Summary

Responsible for 24x7x365 monitoring, patching, alerting, and maintenance of the City’s IT infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, switches, and cloud platforms. Ensures reliability, performance, and security of all managed systems.
Mandatory Requirements

·        Experience with FortiGate firewalls
·        Experience managing Microsoft 365 tenant
·        Ability to provide patch compliance reporting
·        Ability to support ~250 workstations and 6 firewalls
·        Must provide proactive monitoring and remediation
Roles & Responsibilities

·        Monitor servers, network devices, and cloud systems
·        Manage FortiGate firewalls and advanced threat protection
·        Perform patching, updates, and maintenance
·        Provide automated alerting and human review/response
·        Administer Microsoft 365 tenant
·        Support Azure and Veeam backup environments
·        Configure new or replacement servers, switches, and firewalls
·        Conduct quarterly network health reviews and provide plain‑language reports
Education Qualification
