Linux & Network Systems Administrator
Cle-Elum, WA, US (Onsite - 5 days)
About Comtronic Systems (A Banyan Portfolio):
Comtronic Systems delivers enterprise software solutions that support collections and financial services organizations. Its flagship platforms, Debtmaster and CallThru, power mission-critical operations for clients through integrated database and telephony systems. Operating in a high-availability, production-critical environment, Comtronic supports complex client workflows where reliability, responsiveness, and technical depth are essential.
About the Role:
Comtronic Systems is seeking a Linux & Network Systems Administrator to own and support the infrastructure underpinning the CallThru platform. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is comfortable working directly in Linux environments, diagnosing network and system-level issues, and owning problems end-to-end in a production support context. You will serve as a key escalation point for complex infrastructure and platform issues, working across Linux systems, networking layers, and SQL databases. The role requires solid technical fundamentals, strong diagnostic instincts, and the ability to operate independently in a production environment. Customer-facing support experience is a plus but is secondary to core technical capability.
This is an on-site role based in Cle Elum, WA
The Role:
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems (CentOS/Ubuntu): manage services, configure environments, and resolve issues using command-line tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve network-layer issues including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and SSH configurations.
  • Analyze system performance and connectivity using diagnostic tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, netstat, and system logs.
  • Support CallThru platform operations: investigate infrastructure-level issues across telephony, database, and system layers.
  • Work with SQL databases to troubleshoot integrations, execute queries, and support system data flows.
  • Own technical investigations end-to-end: from initial triage through root cause analysis, resolution, and documentation.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex platform issues; collaborate with engineering on bug triage and system improvements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, SOPs, and internal knowledge base contributions.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of support investigations.

Qualifications for Success:
  • 3+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, infrastructure support, or a closely related technical role.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, or equivalent) and command-line tools.
  • Solid working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, SSH.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, netstat, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of SQL: ability to write and troubleshoot queries.
  • Exposure to VoIP, SIP, telephony systems, or Asterisk.
  • Experience with Ansible, Docker, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing or help desk support capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical investigations end-to-end in a production environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document clearly and manage client interactions professionally.
