Job description

The Manager, Network Services is an experienced people leader role responsible for overseeing the organization’s Network Services. This hands-on leadership role requires managing a diverse team of IT professionals, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will possess at least 8 years of IT management experience, with expertise in Cisco technologies, Forescout NAC, Big IP F5, SolarWinds, and Palo Alto Firewalls. The candidate should be forward-thinking while maintaining the stability of existing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Services Management:
    • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless).
    • Manage network security appliances and services, including Palo Alto Firewalls and F5 LTM load balancers.
    • Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and reliability, implementing necessary improvements or upgrades.
    • Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Cloud Services Management:
    • Direct the strategy, deployment, and management of cloud services, including AWS and Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
    • Work with internal teams to ensure secure and efficient cloud operations.
    • Implement cloud security, compliance controls, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to network engineers, system administrators, and cloud specialists.
    • Cultivate a high-performance culture by setting clear objectives, defining expectations, and holding team members accountable for results.
    • Identify team skill gaps and proactively plan for succession and resource needs to meet evolving business demands.
    • Promote transparency, open communication, and continuous improvement within the team, driving productivity and engagement.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset, and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Project Management:
    • Plan, manage, and execute infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely delivery.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and solutions.
    • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management for IT infrastructure initiatives.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure all IT infrastructure components adhere to security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Work closely with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain robust security controls.
    • Oversee the implementation of firewall policies and rules across the organization.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on leadership role managing technical teams.
  • At least 3 years of experience with cloud systems (preferably AWS), deployment of business systems, server technology, storage systems, and data center technologies.
  • Proven expertise with the following technologies and practices:
    • Cisco technologies (routers, switches, firewalls, network security solutions).
    • Forescout NAC (Network Access Control).
    • F5 LTM (Load Balancer and traffic management).
    • Palo Alto Firewalls (Next-Generation Firewalls, threat management, and VPN configuration).
    • Performance Management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, AppDynamics).
    • Data center operations (designing, implementing, and managing).
    • Ability to innovate and automate infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar ticket tracking and documentation systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex IT infrastructure initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center management, disaster recovery, backup solutions, and business continuity planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in ITIL practices, network and system security, and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, VMware VCP, Nutanix Certified Professional, F5 Certified, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, AWS).
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in IT infrastructure and cloud services.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position involves managing a team of Infrastructure Engineers (Server, Storage, Cloud, and Network Infrastructure). The Senior IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for overseeing staff activities, providing administration support, and offering coaching and mentorship.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position operates in a professional office environment. Routine tasks involve standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, in-office role. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional schedule adjustments as needed for night or weekend work.

Travel:
This role may require up to 10% travel.
