Job description

Job Summary:
CesiumAstro is a pioneer in developing communication systems for space and airborne platforms, seeking a Network Administrator II. This role involves supporting network infrastructure and communications systems for launch operations, ensuring network stability and security while collaborating with various technical teams.
Responsibilities:
• Configure, administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise and operational network infrastructure supporting Element 1 launch operations
• Support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network security appliances
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable operational support
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, latency, and infrastructure-related issues across operational and engineering environments
• Support implementation and maintenance of VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and access control configurations
• Support network infrastructure associated with launch operations, integration labs, mission operations, and testing environments
• Assist with network provisioning, hardware deployments, cable management, and infrastructure upgrades
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support network security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives
• Participate in incident response and operational troubleshooting activities during critical mission and launch support windows
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning activities related to network operations
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, infrastructure documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures
• Assist with implementation of infrastructure improvements focused on reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Support network audits, compliance reviews, and cybersecurity assessments
• Recommend process improvements and infrastructure enhancements based on operational needs and performance trends

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in network administration or network operations.
• Experience administering enterprise networking environments and supporting operational infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of: Enterprise networking technologies (Fortinet preferred or equivalent platforms)
• Firewall and network security solutions
• VPN and remote access technologies
• Network monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting tools
• Routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, and network segmentation
• Ticketing systems and infrastructure management platforms
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve network connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
Preferred:
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, mission operations, or other highly regulated operational environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, compliance requirements, and vulnerability management processes.
• Experience supporting 24/7 operations or shift-based environments.
