Job description

Network Operations Residency Program, University Graduate, August 2026 Start

Google Atlanta, GA, USA

This role will start as a cohort in August 2026. This program is intended for candidates that have authorization to legally work full-time in the United States.

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Internship experience in network engineering, data center, system administration, or another technical capacity.
  • Experience working with networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, ARP, IP Tables, routing) or Unix systems administration, including coding (e.g., Java, C/C++) or scripting in shell or Python.
Preferred qualifications
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

The NORP is a comprehensive 16‑month program designed for full‑time new hires ("Nooglers") to gain broad exposure to various Network Engineering projects through rotations. NORP is structured to cultivate future leaders and accelerate careers in networking technology. We seek candidates who demonstrate strong foundational knowledge in networking, excellent project management abilities, and a passion for managing unique and complex problems.

Responsibilities
  • Gain exposure to network engineering and technical program management roles.
  • Collaborate with Googlers to plan, deliver, and operate networking infrastructure for Google.
  • Contribute to creative, innovative solutions that might include introducing better tools and automation, or improving processes to make the team’s work easier.
