This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Position Summary:
The global head of data network operations is a senior technology management role responsible for the strategy, governance and day-to-day reliability of Bank of America's global data network. This role leads a large, distributed organization providing deeply technical level 2 and level 3 network operational support for our datacenter network, core network, branch, campus and SD-WAN networks, wireless and network Access Authentication and Authorization environments (AAA) that operates 24x7, ensuring secure, resilient, and performant connectivity across data centers, cloud, branches, trading floors and end-user environments. You will drive the transformation of data network operations from traditional ticket-driven models to data-centric, AI and automation first operating models to predict, prevent and rapidly remediate issues at scale.
Responsibilities:
  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
  • Lead global teams responsible for proactive response and service restoration for the enterprise data network and related services.
  • Diagnose and resolves complex network issues across routing, switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers.
  • Define and own the strategy for data network operations, aligned with Bank of America's business, risk and technology roadmaps.
  • Advances automation and AI-assisted operations to reduce manual effort (toil), improve consistency, ensure process adherence and enhance network reliability
  • Implement AI-driven runbooks, self-healing workflows, and intelligent routing of incidents to reduce noise and accelerate resolution.
  • Identify and drive workload reduction, automation opportunities, and process simplification to free capacity for higher-value engineering work.
  • Design and implement a modern operating model that integrates NOC, SRE, and automation capabilities, including follow-the-sun support.
  • Track and improve operational KPI's for the data network operations team (MTTD, MTTR, change success rates, incident volumes, automation coverage, etc.)
  • Foster a blameless, learning-oriented culture that emphasizes reliability, transparency and continuous improvement. Upskill the organization in automation, AI, data literacy, and modern network technologies.
  • This position will interface directly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/providers, architecture, product engineering, product management, and business management. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years in large-scale network operations, infrastructure engineering, or related domains, with at least 7+ years in senior leadership roles in complex, multi-vendor, regulated enterprises (preferably global financial services).
  • Proven track record leading global 24x7 follow the sun operations teams and major incident management for mission critical environments.
  • Expert-level experience network technologies: Routing & Switching, Firewalls, LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, NAC, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, NHRP, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, ACL, VPN.
  • Experience with SDN; Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, Arista CloudVision.
  • Experience with SDWAN, preferred if on Cloudgenix and Cisco.
  • Experience with other network technologies: WAN, MAN, LAN, Optical, Routing, Switching, Firewall, Proxy/Threat Prevention, DDI, Load Balancing, and AAA.
  • Knowledge of Technology Process frameworks & philosophies (ITIL, Agile, LEAN, DevOps).
  • Strong business partnership skills - able to build business relationships across the organization and positively influence colleagues.
  • Capability to summarize complex issues into executive summaries.
  • Willing to work some irregular hours based on the needs of global operating model and the location of clients.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify gaps, challenge others with positive intent, and drive debate towards identification and remediation of underlying risks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory risk management in Technology and Information Security domains.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant Industry certifications in Network Technologies. Experience working in an Agile environment. ITIL/Agile Certification.
