About the Team

The Global Payment Network (GPN) organization is driving a renewed mission to transform its Platforms and Products. GPN encompasses the relationships, technologies, platforms, products, and processes that facilitate the movement of money for Cards, Merchants, Banks and Commercial Products across both domestic and international rails. For Product Managers, understanding and strategically managing the GPN is essential for maximizing customer value, optimizing costs, driving innovation in payments, and ensuring compliance.

The Product Manager for the Observability Platform in GPN will define the strategy and roadmap for the systems that provide end-to-end visibility into application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience. They will partner closely with Business, Technology and Support teams to deliver scalable telemetry capabilities spanning metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and dashboards, to directly support payment network uptime, transaction integrity, and partner SLAs. This role translates business priorities into platform features that deliver measurable value, and prioritizes reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience, ensuring teams can proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve issues quickly. This role will drive observability adoption across the organization, and measure success through improved system resilience and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

  • Experience with tools such as Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Product Management


Riverwoods, IL: $149,800 - $171,000 for Manager, Product Management










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
