The Federal Civilian business unit supports many customers spanning the federal, commercial, and nonprofit space. Our customers include NASA, the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, the Library of Congress, Health & Human Services, and the FDIC. We partner with these agencies to build new capabilities, deliver products, establish data as a strategic asset for informed decision-making, modernize legacy systems, and build the digital service infrastructure necessary to scale their mission impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of engineering experience

    • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education

  • Demonstrates expert-level knowledge in at least one technical area (including but not limited to frontend, backend, or infrastructure engineering)

Primary Responsibilities/Technical Skills

  • Cloud Platforms (Must Have): Proficiency in at least one major cloud service provider: (Prefer AWS and Azure expertise)
    • AWS (Amazon Web Services) — e.g., VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Microsoft Azure — e.g., Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, Network Security Groups.
    • Google Cloud Platform — e.g., VPC, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN.
  • Networking (Must Have): Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing to include BGP, switching, and subnetting.
    • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers. Knowledge of SD-WAN and hybrid cloud networking. Cloud to Cloud routing and configurations
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible. Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.
  • Security: Network security best practices.
    • Zero Trust network principles. Cloud-native security services (AWS Security Groups, Azure Firewall, etc.).
    • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Cloud-native monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor). Third-party tools (Datadog, Splunk, SolarWinds).
  • Professional Certifications (At least one certification in addition to the skills)
    Cloud Certifications:

    • AWS Certified Advanced Networking

    • Specialty AWS Certified Solutions Architect Microsoft Certified

    • Azure Network Engineer Associate Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer
      Networking Certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE CompTIA Network+
      Security Certifications (bonus)

    • CompTIA Security+ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current or previous Federal Government Clearance
  • 3 to 5+ years in networking, with at least 1 to 2 years in cloud-based networking.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid network architectures.
  • Hands-on experience and firm understanding of Policy Enforcement Points. Hands-on experience with PrivateLink Hands-on experience with migration projects from on-premises to cloud.
  • Forward thinking and Engineering not just for today but engineering for future needs/requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.

  • Clear communication skills for cross-team collaboration. Project management and ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Adaptability to evolving cloud technologies. Ability to work in a fast past paced, high demand environment.

  • Knowledge of container networking (Kubernetes, Docker). Experience with multi-cloud networking strategies. Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Route 53 and DNS.
