Network Architect - CCIE Required (Route & Switch/ Enterprise Infrastructure)
Location: Remote with the ability to go onsite to support our client in Texas as needed (rare occasion)
Salary: Depending on experience, pay is up to $155K per year with a 10% bonus structure and full benefits
Network Architect serves as a subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise and data center network solutions, primarily within Cisco environments. This role is a mix of approximately 60-70% architecture, design, and consulting work, and 30-40% operational support and escalations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise network architectures, including core, distribution, access, WAN, and data center environments
  • Act as an SME for routing and switching, SD-WAN, wireless, load balancing, telephony, and network security technologies
  • Develop and document customer requirements and implementation plans
  • Lead network assessments, provide recommendations, and support solution delivery
  • Participate in client-facing engagements, including workshops, solution design, and pre-sales activities (RFPs, SOWs)
  • Provide Tier 3 support for complex network issues and perform troubleshooting, upgrades, and optimizations
  • Support lifecycle management, capacity planning, and documentation handoff
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute as a technical lead when needed

Required Qualifications
  • Current Cisco CCIE (Routing and Switching or equivalent) required
  • 3-5+ years of post-CCIE experience in network architecture and design required
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Technical Expertise
  • Routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, QoS, VPNs)
  • Network services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, Syslog, etc.)
  • Cisco technologies including SD-WAN, ACI, Nexus, Catalyst, ASR
  • Data center networking, high availability design, and disaster recovery
  • Load balancing (F5), firewalls, and network security design
  • Wireless technologies (Cisco, Aruba) and network access control (ISE)

Additional Experience
  • Pre-sales support including solution design, scoping, and pricing
  • Experience with multi-vendor environments and enterprise-scale deployments
