Job Summary:
Micro Center is the nation’s leading computer and electronics big box retailer, offering more than 40,000 top technology products. The Network and Infrastructure Manager will oversee the maintenance of a secure and high-performance network infrastructure while providing leadership to the networking team and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the maintenance of a high-performance and secure LAN/WAN/SAN infrastructure, including secure wireless networking solutions for both corporate and remote locations.
• Ensure best practices are followed to maintain network security and safeguard company data, systems, and infrastructure from internal and external threats, this includes following PCI standards.
• Provide leadership and team management to guide and the Infrastructure / Networking team. Including mentoring, performance management, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate infrastructure and cloud solutions that meet the companies’ objectives.
• Establish best practices for business continuity and capacity planning.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and security best practices to keep the company’s infrastructure current and secure.
• Serve as a key contributor to the organization’s security team.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure management, network administration or engineering.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards to ensure regulatory compliance and secure transaction environments.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale infrastructure projects from concept to implementation.
• Vendor Management: Experience managing relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts, evaluating products, and ensuring service levels meet organizational standards.
• History of designing and implementing cloud-based solutions with a strong understanding of cloud-native technologies.
• Strategic problem-solver who leverages detailed data analysis to optimize infrastructure performance and minimize downtime.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Experience with Cisco and Ubiquiti networking products, including wireless.
• Familiarity with Pure storage arrays.
• SAN and backup solution design and implementation.
• Experience with Cloudflare’s networking solutions.
• Familiarity with the following hardware: Major server hardware providers; Dell, HP etc., F5 load balancers, Sonicwall Firewalls, APC / Schneider Electric battery backup solutions.
• Experience managing a large-scale multi-site network environment.
• Telecommunication contract negotiation.
