We are seeking an experienced Senior Edge Network Engineer to design, secure, and optimize our enterprise edge networking environment across both onpremise and cloud platforms. This hybrid role, based in Nashville, TN, is ideal for a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancing, and modern cloud networking solutions.


Edge Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure edge network architectures supporting onprem and cloud workloads.
  • Engineer and support Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect, and advanced security services (AppID, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering).
  • Manage and optimize F5 BIGIP platforms including LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM, and APM modules.

Cloud Networking & Hybrid Connectivity

  • Architect and support cloud networking solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPCs, VNets, Transit Gateways, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Implement secure hybrid connectivity solutions such as sitetosite VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, or SDWAN.
  • Ensure consistent security and routing policies across multicloud and onprem environments.

Security, Performance & Operations

  • Develop and enforce network security standards, segmentation strategies, and zerotrust principles.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and loadbalancing issues.
  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and rootcause analysis.
  • Automate network operations using scripting or infrastructureascode tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform).

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with security, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and escalation support for junior engineers.
  • Participate in oncall rotation and support critical incident response.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • Strong expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with F5 BIGIP load balancers (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM).
  • Experience designing and supporting cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Deep understanding of routing, switching, DNS, SSL/TLS, and network security principles.
  • Proficiency with automation and scripting for network operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in large-scale, mission-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as:
    • Palo Alto (PCNSA, PCNSE)
    • F5 (CA, CTS)
    • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with SDWAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with zerotrust architectures and modern security frameworks.
