Description

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to support ongoing network lifecycle refresh initiatives. This role is responsible for configuring and preparing Cisco network infrastructure to be shipped and installed at planed refresh sites. They will coordinate with the field tech for the install, get the correct IP ranges and subnet, and do network failover testing to test all routers and switches are working properly. This person partners closely with network leadership, field techs, and vendors on planning, documentation, and overall network improvements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Implement best practice processes to troubleshoot and resolve outages. - Works with network providers to resolve installation and outage issues. - Reports significant system outages and causes to IT management and provide sufficient information to perform root cause analysis. - Provides direct network operations support, including router and switch configuration, firewall administration, VPN support, and IDS/IPS and URL filtering support. - Monitors software vendors for new releases and patches and applies same as appropriate to established policies. - Regularly review all network systems to ensure controls are present and configurations are up to the current standard. - Troubleshoot and resolve network outages. - Configure network equipment for deployment in company's network. - Participate as a team/project resource to complete current network improvement projects. - Monitor new developments in network and firewall technology and make recommendations as appropriate. - Participate in development and implementation of components to ensure compliance with company network standards and architecture. - Recommend IT network operations policy changes as appropriate. - Updates Network architecture, design and standards, plans and DR documentation.
